MORE INFORMATION HERE! The strategy to playing all 7 basic modes effectively is remembering each one and recognizing how each one sounds. The acronym you can use to help remember the order of the modes is this: I Don’t Particularly Like Modes A Lot This translates to: Ionian Dorian Phrygian Lydian Mixolydian Aeolian Locrian Each mode has its own musical characteristic sound different from the others and can be played individually to achieve a melodically unique landscape. The modes can also be played in successtion, and in that order, from whichever mode was originally used to help expand solo possibilities across the neck.
